Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah is the 14th and current Yang di-Pertuan Agong (head of state) of Malaysia, as well as the 27th and current Sultan of Kedah. He previously served as the fifth Yang di-Pertuan Agong from 1970 to 1975.

Biografi
Born at Istana Anak Bukit near Alor Star as Tunku Abdul Halim, he was the second, but eldest surviving son, of Sultan Badlishah (born 1894; reigned 1943–1958), who later became the 27th Sultan of Kedah.  

His mother was Tunku Sofiah binti Tunku Mahmud (born 1910), who died in an automobile accident on 28 February 1935. Tunku Abdul Halim's maternal grandfather, Tunku Mahmud, was once Raja Muda or heir presumptive to the throne of Kedah.

He was educated at Alor Merah and Titi Gajah Malay schools and Sultan Abdul Hamid College in Alor Star between 1946 and 1948. He went on to Wadham College, Oxford and obtained a Diploma in Social Science and Public Administration. He subsequently joined the Kedah Administrative Service, serving in the Alor Star district office and later, the state treasury.

On 6 August 1949 he was appointed Raja Muda or heir apparent and succeeded as twenty-eighth Sultan of Kedah on his father's death on 15 July 1958.He was installed at the Balai Besar in Alor Star on 20 February 1959.

First Election as Deputy King

Tuanku Abdul Halim (as he became), served as Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong between 21 September 1965 and 20 September 1970.

Tuanku Abdul Halim was elected as the fifth Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and served his term in office from 21 September 1970 to 20 September 1975.

He is the third youngest monarch to ascend the throne of Yang di-Pertuan Agong after Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis and Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.

During his kingship, Tuanku Abdul Halim presided over the first transfer of power of the civilian government when his uncle, Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman resigned in favour of his deputy Tun Abdul Razak. Tunku Abdul Rahman had felt that he should not serve under a nephew, given strict Malay royal protocol, but agreed to stay on as prime minister for one day of Tuanku Abdul Halim's reign.

Second election as Deputy King

On 2 November 2006, Tuanku Abdul Halim was for the second time elected Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong to serve a five-year term. He is the third person to have been elected twice to this office, after Tuanku Jaafar of Negeri Sembilan and Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.

In October 2011, Abdul Halim was elected to serve a second term as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong which commenced on 13 December 2011. He is the first person to hold the position twice.[6] He is also the oldest Malay Ruler to be crowned Yang di-Pertuan Agong at 84 years 15 days, beating the previous record holder, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz of Selangor, who was crowned at 73 years 49 days

Tuanku Hajjah Haminah is the current Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia and the 3rd Sultanah of Kedah Darul Aman. This page is dedicated to Her Majesty by Kesultanan Kedah.

Biografi
Born a commoner from Bagan Serai, Perak on 15 July 1953. She is the fourth of seven siblings born to father Hamidun Taib and mother Isma Mohamad. Haminah was educated at SK Matang Jelutong and later SM Inggeris Bagan Serai.


On 25 December 1975, at age 22, Haminah married the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim, and became his second wife. She received the title Che Puan Kedah.

Sultan Abdul Halim's first wife, Tuanku Bahiyah, died on 27 August 2003. On 21 November, Che Puan Haminah was proclaimed Sultanah. Her coronation ceremony took place in the royal town of Anak Bukit on 9 January 2004.

Upon the installation of Sultan Abdul Halim as Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 13 December 2011, Tuanku Haminah became Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Tuanku Haminah is known to enjoy golf, tennis, badminton and music. She has participated in various gold tournaments in Kedah and initiated amateur women's golf tournaments such as the Kedah International Red Tee Invitational in Langkawi.

Tuanku Haminah is the fourth commoner who become a Raja Permaisuri Agong after Tuanku Bainun binti Mohamad Ali of Perak, Tuanku Permaisuri Siti Aishah of Selangor and Tuanku Nur Zahirah of Terengganu.

Biografi
DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah Al Mutawakkil Alallahi Shah, dilahirkan pada 14hb. Ogos 1959 di Hospital Batu Gajah, Perak.

Beliau ialah puteri kedua dan anakanda yang ketiga kepada D.Y.M.M. Paduka Seri Sultan Perak dan DYMM Raja Perempuan Perak.

Mendapat pendidikan awal di Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Datin Khadijah Kuala Kangsar hingga darjah enam. Setelah tamat pengajian di sekolah rendah, beliau meneruskan pelajaran ke tingkatan satu di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Raja Perempuan Kalsom Kuala Kangsar. Dalam bulan September 1972,DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah telah melanjutkan pelajaran di Chaltenham Ladies College, di England hingga tingkatan enam.DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah pada bulan September 1977 meneruskan pelajarannya di Davies's College, London dan tahun berikutnya diterima masuk ke Somerville College, di Universiti Oxford setelah lulus peperiksaan Oxford Entrance Examination.Beliau tamat pengajian di Universiti Oxford dengan mendapat Ijazah Bachelors of Arts dalam bulan Jun 1983 dan mengikut tradisi Universiti Oxford, DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah telah menerima Ijazah Master of Arts selepas tiga tahun iaitu dalam tahun 1986.



DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah telah berkenan membuat lawatan amal ke Hospis Malaysia. Lawatan ini juga diiringi oleh YAM Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim dan .... Di dalam lawatan ini, penghuni-penghuni Hospis Malaysia telah dihiburkan dengan beberapa lagu nanyian bersama Tunku Laksamana Johor dengan Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza. Turut memeriahkan majlis adalah pelawak terkenal negara, Pn Louisa Chong, En Abon dan En Imuda.
